Harmonia Review (English Version)

Well, for the first time, I'll be making a detailed analysis for one of Akiko Shikata's albums, this time, for her most recent one: Harmonia.



This album has as main theme a Gaia Symphony (in comparison to Navigatoria, whose theme was the Stars, and Raka, whose theme was the Moon), divided in songs dedicated to each one of the four elements: Wind, Fire, Water and Earth. Simply put, it's a praise to all the faces of the elements, both light and dark, and their unification for the sake of the world (this last part is my own interpretation of it). Now, on to a detailed description of each track:

1) 調和～風来の調べ～ (Harmony ~ The Melody of the Breeze ~ )

As an opener for the album, and for the wind songs, we have this short but beautiful piece of music. It opens with a little chorus in an unknown language, and after it, the singing for the japanese lyrics commences, giving the image of being in a faraway place, feeling and hearing to breeze come by, and closing off with a silence. It helps a lot to relax, though it clashes a little with the beginning of the next song.

2) 遥かなる旅路 (A Faraway Journey)
Then, we go on with this song, which tells the story of a group of desert travelers. With a decidedly arabian style (complemented by the turkish and arabian lyrics, and by the instrumentation used in it), it really gives off the feeling of traveling through the desert, seeing images of an oasis, and of the towns that they visit. It's really recommended to hear it during a journey :).

3) 軌跡 (Locus)

Though I think that this song serves that purpose better. This song, with a rhythm that shifts between quick and slow, and using flutes, violins, and Akiko's beautiful voice as instruments (yes; I do consider the human voice as a musical instrument), sounds perfect for an epic movie, and its lyrics, written in Japanese and Greek describes the character of the wind, the spirits that control it, and the blessings of the seasons. Between the wind songs, this is my personal favorite.

4) 風と羅針盤 (Wind and Compass)

And bringing closure to the wind section, we have this song, which, sincerely, sounds pretty off Akiko's classical style, since it sounds more like standard J-Pop than anything, but is not a bad song either. Basically, it's a love song, though the rhythm and instruments make one think more on flying through the sky crazily while searching for something, and I think that it shows pretty well the capricious character of the wind. This song uses German and Japanese in its lyrics. Personally, I think it's a good song, but I feel it inferior to the previous ones.

5) 調和～焔の共鳴～ (Harmony ~ Resonance of the Flames ~ )

And as opening to the fire section (or as I call it: the Hell), we have this piece. Here, we begin to see a little of Akiko's "dark" side, since this song is played with a synth and electric guitars, and the instruments, combined with Akiko's semi-low voice register, it gives a quite creepy feeling, ending in an abrupt form. Like the wind part of Harmonia, this song uses Japanese and an unknown language in its lyrics. If I have to say anything, I would say that this song is basically a welcome to both the Hell and the Purgatory (you'll be seeing now what I mean with this).

6) 埋火 (Buried Flame)

And here, we actually start with the dark things. Basically is an alternative rock song, though the lyrics are quite scary: it talks about how useless are the wars that the humans wage, and that it would be better to destroy everything in the world and start over. The rhythm varies a lot during the song, and Akiko shiftes continually her voice between her medium and hard tones (though the hard tone doesn't sound as masculine as the one she uses in Sublimation ~ ee wassa sos yehar); with an small instrumental bridge near the end played with a violin, which is the only true calm part that this song has, and I feel that the song in general sounds a little like some of the songs from ALI Project. Frankly, I think that the combination of Japanese (written more in katakana than in hiragana) and German are perfect for the lyrics of this song. Really it's a song filled with dark feelings (as a fun fact, the lyrics were written by Amano Tsukino / Amano Tsuki, from Fatal Frame fame), though not as much as...

7) レプリカール (Replicate)

This one... Between the fire songs, this is the one that has by far the most dark and depressing lyrics. The song is mostly played in a slow and paused way, using majorly an string synth, accoustic guitars and piano, though in the main choruses and other parts the instruments are electric guitars, and the rhythm shifts suddenly in them. The song is stable until the end of the second chorus, where it looks like it was ending. However, here I have to say: "If you thought that this was the end, you were sadly mistaken. The true horror is just beginning", because here is where to most creepy part of the song is located (the "instrumental" bridge): after a couple of vocalizations on Akiko's part, and a sound effect that sounds like if the entire Earth was moaning, they begin: extremely creepy choruses; and the rhythm and melody of the music really are enough to scare anyone (not to mention the lyrics). About the lyrics, they show the image of a world that was completely destroyed, in which no one survived except for one person, and Akiko's voice, shifting between her sweetest tone (sung in Japanese mainly), and her hardest tone (mostly in the Italian choruses), really shows the pain of being that only survivor, reminiscing continually the day the world ended, and how, even though there warnings to it, no one did anything to avoid it. And the final choruses sound like an indirect to some of the awful events of our world ("Replicate (repeat), why? Why do the chains of sadness never end?"). Is recommended listening to it, given that it's a great song, but careful if it's not your style of music, given that it's extremely depressing.

8) うみねこのなく頃に～煉獄～ (When the Seagulls Cry ~ Purgatory ~)

Well, Replicare has the darkest lyrics, but this song, a remix from the main theme song of the popular murder mystery visual novel "Umineko no Naku Koro ni" ("When the Seagulls Cry"), is the one that has the darkest and most chaotic music. At first, it begins like the original version of the game (except for the lyrics): to be more exact, the initial chorus is the same as the game version, and the song itself, until the first chorus, has the same instrumentation and is played in the same exact key as the game version (except for some added distortion sounds and choruses), while the "Beatrice!" chorus is taken as it was from the single version (though it had a little chorus added, as well). The parts after this are completely new, but once here, the song turns into a complete chaos, and personally, I hardly can continue listening to it, given that the lyrics are pretty dark as well. These were the reasons I had to say that this song feel like a walk through Hell, though it's very appropiate, taking in account that this song closes off the fire section. This is the only song in the album that uses a non-Japanese language for the entirety of its lyrics (Italian). It's very good, but personally, I'll stick to the version of the single, and the original version that was on the game, since I prefer songs that have an stable melodic structure, as opposed to the chaotic ones.

9) 調和～泡沫の子守唄～ (Harmony ~ Lullaby of the Bubbles ~ )

And now, we begin with the section that is my favorite by far, the water section. From hell, Akiko transports us to the depths of the sea, with a song that really gives the sensation of being floating over, or being under the water. Extremely soft, relaxing, with a soothing chorus, and with Akiko using both her sweet and medium voice registers, it really relaxes, making it that the song actually honors its title. Plus, the lyrics praise the virtues of water, and its role as origin of all the lives of this world. Between the four Harmony songs, (not including the complete version here), this is my favorite one, and it's also one of my favorite songs from the album (and I think it was very well planned to put the water section immediately after the fire section, since the relaxing effect of the water songs is amplified after listening to the fire ones).

10) 久遠の海 (The Sea of Eternity)

And continuing where the last song took off, we have this song played with guitars and violins. Like the previous song, this one is focused in relaxing and healing the listener, and continues with the praising of the ocean as origin of the life, and requesting from it strength to face the sadness and the hardships. It evokes the image of gazing to the sea at dawn, and its sung in Japanese with an small Italian Chorus. And like with the previous song, and the next one, I can't avoid crying since the lyrics and music really move me, and help me a lot to settle down my mind. Is one of the songs I recommend the most to everyone.

11) アオイロ缶詰 (The Blue Can)
This song has a ballad style, and is very gentle. Basically, Akiko tells you that, no matter how sad you might be, don't cry, and smile, that all the beautiful things in the world, stored in a blue can, will go and console you. The playing of the violins and piano used in this song, combined with the soft and sweet voice in which Akiko sings this song really enhances the sentimental feeling it provokes, and it helps a lot to leave sadness behind. The lyrics are completely in Japanese, and it also goes into the list of my personal favorites.

12) 追想花 (Flower of Reminiscence)
And as closure for the water section, we have a very melancholic section. Is played totally with string instruments, in a slow rhythm, with Akiko using her middle voice register, and it gives the sensation of missing a lot a person that you love a lot, but not have seen for a long time. Contrary to the other water songs, this one is not relaxing or healing, but that doesn't make it any less good, though personally, I like better the other three water songs. This song is also completely sung in Japanese.

13) 調和～大地の讃歌～ (Harmony ~ The Hymn of the Earth ~ )

And as opener for the final section of album, the earth section, we have its part of Harmonia. This one has more of Akiko's classical song style, keeping a constant rhythm throughout the song, and it uses classical guitars, and more chorus layers that the previous songs. As the other Harmonia parts, is sung both in Japanese and in an unknown language. Is pretty good, and very energizing.

14) 謳う丘～Salavec rhaplanca.～ (Singing Hill ~ The Sacrifice of Rhaplanca ~ )

And here we have the song that for many was the most expected of this album: the full-size remix of the Ar tonelico II Opening: Singing Hill ~ Harmonics FRELIA. For starters, it doesn't have anymore the opening chorus that Harmonics FRELIA had, and the similiraties between both start around half-minute after the beginning of the song, where the quintuple chorus sung in Risshizentsukuyomi starts. Then, the song follows more or less the structure of the original version, telling the story of the town of Lelentas, Rhaplanca, and her guardian knight. However, after the first chorus ends, the rhythm of the song begins to shift, reaching its climax once the choruses begin to turn violent, and in this point, the song sounds awfully similar to Sublimation ~ ee wassa sos yehar. And after an small pause, it takes again a calm rhythm again, and closes off in the same way it started. The story told in this song (in Japanese and Hymmnos, as expected) tells that Rhaplanca was chosen as a sacrifice for the God of Disaster, and that her guardian knight fought as much as he could to save her, but because he managed to do it, the protection the God of Disaster gave to Lelentas vanished away, which allowed its neighbors to invade and destroy it. Personally, I don't think that this Rhaplanca is the same one from the legends that were told in the Hymmnos songs of Ar tonelico II, and this song, contrary to Harvestasya's story, had a very tragic ending. However, that doesn't change the fact that it has turned into one of my favorite songs, and I recommend it wholeheartedly.

15) Amnesia

And here, we have the long version of a somewhat old song of Akiko, but a not very known one: Amnesia. The lyrics are melancholic, but is very enjoyable, and the tone of the song itself it's pretty soft, and the sound of the ocarina, piano, and the other string and percussion instruments make this song somewhat emotional, but at the same time, strangely relaxing. I personally prefer the original version, although it's short, it has something that I can't determine, but that the long version has missing.

16) 調和～Harmonia～ (Harmony ~ Harmonia ~ )
And here, we have the first of the two namesake songs of the album. It begins with a soft sound, to then hear Akiko chanting the melody of the four previous songs of Harmonia combined, and a little moment later, she stays in silence, handing said melody to a trio of recorders. I personally love this part, since there is a certain medieval charm in that recorder trio, and as soon as it ends, Akiko begins to sing, sometimes strongly, sometimes softly, the song proper: a song made up from the combination of the four Harmonia songs, and that's not all: the first four blocks of lyric are also the lyrics of each one of the four Harmonia songs. After that, she alternates the melody of the four Harmonia with a new one, both praising Harmonia: the song that unifies the elements, and makes possible the existence of the world. Then, the song closes with a little of synth... though that doesn't mean that it's the end...

17) Harmonia～見果てぬ地へ～ (Harmonia ~ To the Neverending Lands ~ )

Since the song continues here, and after an small instrumental pause, which serves as bridge betwen the previous song and this one, Akiko begins to sing again in a middle tone, giving us the image of a new dawn, and letting us hear what she calls the Song of Origins / Beginnings. Then, she continues singing, accompanied by guitars, percussions, and violins, in a middle-paced rhythm, to give the final praise to the four elements, and asking to Harmonia this: that it keeps the elements unified, and that it resounds to the ends of the world to unify the people, like it did with the elements. And with this, this wondeful album comes to an end.

Final Words:

I was expecting this album since the date when it was announced, and I'm glad to say that I have enjoyed it immensely. Even if I haven't been able to gain a complete liking for the fire songs, I have enjoyed each second, each note, and each sung part I could hear here, though I was somewhat peeved by the fact that none of the songs of this album used a harp in it (something I would have loved in the water songs). Akiko Shikata-sama has done an splendid work yet again, and I look forward to hearing her next works (especially the complete version of the teaser song she released with the first press of this album, Acqua; and whatever she might be planning for Ar tonelico III, in case it does get released).

Bueno, por primera vez estaré haciendo un análisis detallado para uno de los albumes de Akiko Shikata, en este caso, para su album más reciente: Harmonia.



Este album tiene como tema central una Sinfonía de la Tierra (en comparación con Navigatoria, cuyo tema eran las Estrellas; y RAKA, cuyo tema era la Luna), divido en piezas dedicadas a cada uno de los cuatro elementos: Viento, Fuego, Agua y Tierra. Básicamente, es un canto a todas las caras de los elementos, luminosas y oscuras; y a su unificación por el bien del mundo (está ultima parte es mi impresión personal). A continuación, una descripción en detalle de cada track:

1) 調和～風来の調べ～ (Harmonía ~ La Melodía de la Brisa ~ )

Como apertura al album; y a las canciones de viento, tenemos esta corta, pero hermosa pieza. Abre con un pequeño coro en un lenguaje desconocido, y a continuación, empieza la letra en japonés, dando la imagen de estar en un lugar alejado, sintiendo y escuchando la brisa pasar; y cerrando con un silencio. Ayuda bastante a relajarse, aunque choca un poco con el comienzo de la canción siguiente.

2) 遥かなる旅路 (El Lejano Viaje)
Luego, continuamos con esta canción, relatando la historia de unos viajeros del desierto. Con un decidido aire árabe (complementado por la letra en arabe y en turco; y por los instrumentos usados), da la sensación de realmente estar viajando por un desierto, viendo la imagenes del oasis, de los pueblos que se visitan. Realmente es recomendable escucharla durante un viaje :) .

3) 軌跡 (El Camino del Viaje)

Aunque creo que esta canción es mejor para ese proposito. Esta pieza, con ritmo variable entre lento y rápido, y teniendo flautas, violines; y la hermosa voz de Akiko como instrumentos (si, considero la voz humana como un instrumento musical también), suena perfecta para una película épica, y su letra, cantada en griego y japonés describe el caractér del viento, de los espiritus que lo controla, y de las bendiciones de las estaciones. Entre las canciones de viento, esta es mi favorita personal.

4) 風と羅針盤 (Viento y Brújula)

Y como cierre para la sección de viento, tenemos esta canción, que la verdad, suena muy salida del estilo clásico de Akiko, ya que suena más como J-Pop que cualquier otra cosa, pero no esta mal tampoco. Básicamente es una canción de amor, aunque el ritmo y los instrumentos hacen pensar mas en estar volando por el cielo a lo loco buscando algo, y me parece que enseña bastante bien el caracter caprichoso del viento. Esta canción utiliza como idiomas el alemán y el japonés. Personalmente, es agradable, pero la siento inferior a las anteriores.

5) 調和～焔の共鳴～ (Harmonía ~ La Resonancia de las Flamas ~ )

Y como apertura a la sección de fuego (o como la llamo yo: El Infierno), tenemos esta pieza. Aquí empezamos a ver un poco del lado "dark" de Akiko, ya que esta canción es tocada con sintetizador y guitarra eléctrica; y los instrumentos, combinados con uno de los registros medio-graves de la voz de Akiko, da una sensación realmente aterradora, terminando de forma brusca. Al igual que la versión de viento de Harmonia, esta usa japonés y un lenguaje desconocido en su letra. Si tengo que decir algo al respecto, diría que esta canción basicamente es una bienvenida a tanto el Infierno como el Purgatorio (verán en seguida porque).

6) 埋火 (Flama Enterrada)

Y aquí empezamos de lleno con lo oscuro. Básicamente es una pieza de rock alternativo, aunque la letra es realmente espantosa: habla solamente de lo inútiles que son las guerras que hace el hombre, y de que seria mejor destruir todo y empezar de nuevo. El ritmo varía bastante a lo largo de la canción, y Akiko cambia el tono de su voz entre su tono medio y su tono duro (aunque no tan masculino como el que emplea en Sublimation ~ ee wassa sos yehar); con un pequeño puente instrumental de violín cerca del final siendo la única parte calmada de la canción; y siento que la canción en general suena un poco como algunas de las canciones hechas por ALI Project. La verdad, es que creo que la combinación de japonés (usando más katakana que hiragana) y alemán van perfectos para esta canción. Realmente es una canción llena de sentimientos oscuros (curiosamente escrita por Amano Tsukino / Amano Tsuki, famosa por sus contribuciones a la serie de juegos Fatal Frame), aunque no tanto como...

7) レプリカール (Replicar)

Esto... Entre las canciones de fuego, esta es la que tiene la letra mas oscura y deprimente. La canción es tocada en mayoría de forma lenta y pausada, usando en mayoría un sintetizador simulando instrumentos de cuerda, guitarras acústicas y piano; aunque en los coros usan guitarras electricas. La canción normalmente es estable hasta el segundo coro, donde pareciera que estuviera terminando, pero aquí debo decir que "Si creías que había terminado, te equivocas. El verdadero horror está por comenzar", ya que es aquí donde está la parte más horrenda de la canción (el puente "instrumental"): después de un par de vocalizaciones de parte de Akiko; y un efecto de sonido que suena como si la Tierra entera estuviera gimiendo, comienzan unos coros extremadamente tenebrosos; y el ritmo y melodía de la música (por no decir la letra) de verdad dan espanto. Respecto a la letra, muestra la imagen de los restos de un mundo completamente destruido, en el que nada sobrevivió excepto una persona, y la voz de Akiko, variando entre su tono más dulce (cantado en japonés principalmente), y su tono más duro (en mayoría los coros en italiano), realmente muestra el dolor de ser ese unico sobreviviente, rememorando el día del fin el mundo, y de como a pesar de las señas, nadie hizo nada para evitarlo. Y los coros finales suenan como una indirecta a nuestro mundo (¿Por que se replica (repite)? ¿Por que las cadenas de la tristeza jamás terminan?). Es recomendable escucharla, ya que como canción es buena, pero mucho cuidado si no es de su estilo, ya que realmente es deprimente.

8) うみねこのなく頃に～煉獄～ (Cuando Lloran las Gaviotas ~ Purgatorio ~)

Bueno, Replicare tenía la más oscura de las letras; pero esta canción, remix de la canción tema de la popular novela visual de misterio "Umineko no Naku Koro ni" ("Cuando Lloran las Gaviotas"), es la que tiene la música más oscura y caótica. Al comienzo, es exactamente igual a la versión del juego (excepto por la letra): para ser más precisos, el coro de apertura es exactamente el mismo de la versión original del juego; y la canción en si, hasta el primer coro, tiene la misma instrumentación y es tocada en la misma clave que la versión del juego (excepto por un par de coros y sonidos de distorsión añadidos), mientras que el coro de "Beatrice!" es tomado tal cual como era en la versión del single (aunque también le añadieron un par de coros). Las partes posteriores a esto son completamente nuevas, pero al llegar a este punto, la canción se vuelve un completo caos; y en lo personal, me resulta díficil continuar escuchandola; ya que la letra tambien es bastante oscura. Esa fue la razón por la que dije que esta canción se siente como dar una caminata por el infierno, aunque se siente apropiado, tomando en cuenta que esta canción es el cierre para la sección de fuego. Esta es la unica canción que usa un idioma no japonés para toda su letra (italiano). Esta canción es buena, pero personalmente, prefiero quedarme con la versión del single y la original del juego, ya que prefiero las canciones que mantienen una estructura melódica estable a las que se vuelven caóticas.

9) 調和～泡沫の子守唄～ (Harmonía ~ La Canción de Cuna de las Burbujas ~ )

Y aquí empezamos con la sección que por lejos es mi preferida, la sección de agua. Del infierno, Akiko nos transporta a lo profundo del mar, con una canción que realmente da la sensación de estar flotando, o de estar bajo del agua. Extremadamente suave, relajante, con un coro tranquilizante, y Akiko usando su tono de voz medio, realmente relaja, haciendo que esta canción le haga honor a su nombre. Además, la letra alaba a las bondades del agua, y a su rol como origen de todas la vidas de este mundo. Entre las cuatro Harmonias (no incluyo la version completa aquí) esta es mi preferida; y es una de mis canciones favoritas del album (y creo que estuvo bien planeado el poner esto inmediatamente despues de la sección de fuego, ya que el efecto relajante y tranquilizante de las canciones de agua se amplifica después de haber escuchado las canciones de fuego).

10) 久遠の海 (El Mar de la Eternidad)

Y continuando donde la canción anterior quedó, tenemos esta pieza tocada con guitarras y violines. Al igual que la canción anterior, esta enfocada en relajar y curar al oyente; y sigue con las alabanzas al mar como origen de la vida y pidiendole que de fuerza para afrontar la tristeza y las adversidades. Evoca la imagen de estar viendo el mar al amanecer y esta cantada en japonés con un pequeño coro en italiano. Al igual que con la canción anterior, y la siguiente, no puedo evitar llorar porque la letra y la música realmente me conmueven, y además me ayudan mucho a tranquilizar mi mente. Esta es una de las canciones que mas recomendaría a todos que escuchacen.

11) アオイロ缶詰 (La Lata Azul)
Esta canción tiene un estilo de balada, y es bastante tierna. Basicamente, Akiko te pide que no llores, y que sonrias, que todas las cosas hermosas de este mundo, guardadas en una lata azul, irán hacia ti para consolarte. El toque de los violines y el piano que se usan en esta canción, combinado con el tono dulce y suave que Akiko emplea aquí, aumentan la sensación sentimental que provoca, y ayuda mucho a dejar la tristeza atrás. Esta canción es completamente cantada en japonés; y también entra en mi lista de favoritas personales.

12) 追想花 (Flor de la Reminiscencia)
Y como cierre para la sección de agua, tenemos una canción bastante meláncolica. Es tocada exclusivamente por instrumentos de cuerda; y da la sensación de estar extrañando mucho a una persona a la que se ama demasiado; y a la que se tiene mucho tiempo sin ver. Al contrario de las otras canciones de agua, esta no es relajante ni sanadora, pero no por eso dejar de ser buena, aunque personalmente, prefiero las otras tres canciones de agua. Esta canción también es cantada completamente en japonés.

13) 調和～大地の讃歌～ (Harmonía ~El Himno de la Tierra ~ )

Y aquí tenemos como apertura para la sección final del disco, la sección de tierra, su parte de Harmonia. Esta ya es mas del estilo de las canciones clásicas de Akiko, ya que mantiene un ritmo constante a lo largo de la canción, y utiliza guitarras clásicas, así como más coros que las canciones anteriores. Al igual que las otras, esta cantada en japonés y en un idioma desconocido. Es bastante buena, y es bastante energizante.


14) 謳う丘～Salavec rhaplanca.～ (Colina Cantante ~ El Sacrificio de Rhaplanca ~ )

Y aquí tenemos la canción que para muchos fue la más esperada del disco: el remix full-size del Opening de Ar tonelico II: Singing Hill ~ Harmonics FRELIA ~ (Colina Cantante ~ Harmonías de FRELIA ~). De entrada, ya no tiene el coro de apertura, y las similitudes entre ambas versiones empiezan alrededor de medio minuto después de comenzada la canción, en donde empieza el coro quintuple cantado en Risshizentsukuyomi. Luego, la canción sigue más o menos la estructura de la versión original, relatando la historia de la ciudad de Lelentas, Rhaplanca y su caballero protector. Sin embargo, después de que termina el primer coro, el ritmo de la canción comienza a variar, llegando a su climax tan pronto como los coros comienzan a volverse violentos, y en esta sección, suena bastante similar to Sublimation ~ ee wassa sos yehar. Y después de una pequeña pausa, vuelve otra vez a retomar el tono tranquilo, para cerrar del mismo modo en que empezo. La historia relatada en esta canción (en japonés y en Hymmnos, como cabría esperar) cuenta que Rhaplanca fue elegida como un sacrificio para el Dios del Desastre; y su caballero trató de salvarla, pero al lograrlo, la protección que el Dios del Desastre le dio a Lelentas desapareció, lo cual permitió a las ciudades vecinas invadirla y destruirla.. Personalmente, no creo que esta Rhaplanca sea la misma que relatan las leyendas contadas en las canciones de Ar tonelico II; y esta historia, a diferencia de la de Harvestasya, tuvo un final bastante trágico. Sin embargo, eso no quita que se haya convertido en una de mis canciones preferidas, y la recomiendo totalmente.

15) Amnesia

Y aquí tenemos la versión larga de una canción algo vieja de Akiko, pero poco conocida: Amnesia. La verdad, es que la letra es algo meláncolica, pero es bastante agradable, y el tono de la canción en si es bastante suave; y el sonido de la ocarina, piano, de los instrumentos de cuerda y de percusión hacen de esta canción algo emocional, pero a la vez, extrañamente relajante. Personalmente, me quedo con la versión original, ya que a pesar de ser corta, tiene algo que no sé que le falta a la versión larga.

16) 調和～Harmonia～ (Harmonía ~ Harmonia ~ )
Y aquí tenemos la primera de las dos pistas titulares del disco. Empezando con un sonido suave, para luego oír a Akiko vocalizando la melodía combinada de las cuatro canciones de Harmonia anteriores; y después ella queda en silencio, cediendole dicha melodía a un trio tocando flautas dulces. Esta parte en lo personal me encanta, ya que hay un cierto encanto medieval en ese trio de flautas, y cuando cierra, Akiko empieza a cantar, a veces con fuerza, a veces suavemente, la melodía combinada de las cuatro Harmonia, y no solo eso: los cuatro primeros bloque de letra son todos la letra de cada una de las cuatro Harmonia. Después de eso, se alternan una melodía nueva junto con la melodía de las Harmonia; y ambas alaban a Harmonia: la canción que une a los elementos, y hace que este mundo sea posible. Luego la canción cierra con un poco de sintetizador... Aunque eso no significa que aún haya terminado...

17) Harmonia～見果てぬ地へ～ (Harmonia ~ Hacia las Tierras Infinitas ~ )

Ya que la canción continua aquí; y después de una pequeña pausa instrumental, que sirve como nexo entre esta canción y la anterior, Akiko comienza de nuevo a cantar en tono medio, dando la imagen de un nuevo amanecer, y haciendonos escuchar lo que ella llama la Canción de los Origenes. A continuación empieza a cantar, acompañada por guitarras, percusiones y violines, a un ritmo intermedio, para darle la alabanza final a los cuatro elementos, y pidiendole a Harmonia, que mantenga a los elementos unidos, y que resuene hasta los confines del mundo para unificar a la gente, tal y como lo hizo con los elementos. Y así cierra este maravilloso album.

Palabras Finales:

Este album lo estuve esperando desde que fue anunciado; y me alegra decir que lo he disfrutado inmensamente. Aún si no he podido agarrarles el gusto del todo a las canciones de fuego, disfrute cada segundo, cada nota y cada letra que pude escuchar de aqui, aunque me molestó un poco el hecho de que no usó arpa en ninguna de las canciones (cosa que me hubiera encantado en las canciones de agua). Akiko Shikata-sama ha hecho un espléndido trabajo de nuevo, y espero poder seguir escuchando sus próximos trabajos (en especial la versión completa de la canción teaser que lanzó con la primera edición de este disco, Acqua; y lo que sea que este preparando para Ar tonelico III en caso de que salga).

Después de los infortunados incidentes de la semana pasada, en los que terminamos perdiendo nuestro amado foro A Reyvateil's Melody, pensé que estabamos acabados, pero gracias al duro trabajo que el equipo técnico hizo, pudimos al menos recuperar los posts via el mirror que wizzardx hizo, y pudimos crear un nuevo foro a partir de los restos del antiguo foro. Estoy seguro que todos seguimos dolidos por la traición que nos hizo weezy, pero tambien estamos orgullosos de tener nuestro foro de nuevo, y de estar haciendolo mejor que el anterior. Solo me queda decir, gracias a todos los que hicieron el duro trabajo de hacer el foro de nuevo; recuperar los posts; y a aquellos que aun se esfuerzan en reconstruir el site principal. Haré todo lo que sea posible para ayudarles, y de hacer un buen rol como administrador.

En otro orden de noticias, finalmente recibí la funda de almohada de Jakuri (milagrosamente, en la puerta de mi casa; y sin los problemas que tuve para retirar At2), pero no pienso fotografiarla hasta que reciba la almohada.

After the unfortunate events of the last week, in which we ended losing our beloved forums "A Reyvateil's Melody", I thought we were done for, but thanks to the hard work of the tech team, at least we could recover the posts via wizzardx's mirror, and we could create a new forum from the remains of the old one. I'm sure that we are still deeply hurt because of weezy's betrayal, but we are also proud of having our forums back, and making it even better than it's predecessor. Sobre el Proyecto de Retraduccion de Ar tonelico II/ About the Ar tonelico II Retranslation Project

Bueno, como algunos ya deben saber, estoy como parte del equipo de retraducción que esta llevando a la realidad la retraducción de Ar tonelico II: Sekai ni Hibiku Shoujo-tachi no Metafalica (mejor conocido como Melody of Metafalica en estas tierras). ¿Por qué lo estamos haciendo?

Bien, por el hecho de que la traducción de NISA, conteniendo algunas cosas buenas, en general es pésima, y no le hace justicia al juego. Por eso, después de la decepción que nos llevamos con esa localización, decidimos llevar a cabo este proyecto, llamado entre nosotros como Proyecto Metafalica. Ya ha pasado mas de un mes desde que empezamos, y ya hemos descifrado casi todos los aspectos técnicos que este proyecto necesitaba (gracias a nuestro brillante equipo técnico), y me complace anunciar que ya la primera de las 5 fases de las que consta este juego, ¡ha sido traducida por completo!

Estoy seguro de que todos estan haciendo su mejor esfuerzo, y yo tambien, aunque estoy muy complacido por haber podido traducir toda la primera fase, seguiré dando mi mejor esfuerzo para que todos puedan disfrutar del juego del modo en que deberían.

Well, as some already know, I'm part of the retranslation team that is working on the retranslation for Ar tonelico II: Sekai ni Hibiku Shoujo-tachi no Metafalica (simply known as Melody of Metafalica over here). And why we're doing it?

Well, because NISA's localization, even if it has some good things, in general is awful, and doesn't do justice to the game. That's the reason for what, after being disappointed with that localization, we decided to proceed with this project, better known between us as Project Metafalica. More than a month has passed since we started, and we have already deciphered almost all the technical aspects that this project needed (thanks to our brilliant technical team), and I'm pleased to announce that the first of the five Phases that make up this game, has been completely translated!

I'm sure that everyone are making their best efforts, and me too I'm doing my best, although I'm very pleased of being able to translate all of the first phase, and I'll continue doing my best so everyone can enjoy the game in the way it was meant to be enjoyed.
