Bueno, resulta que he tenido dos semanas infernales...
Primero, el jueves pasado yo y mi familia fuimos extorsionados por un secuestro falso; y a pesar de que por suerte toda la cuesión resulto ser solo una farsa, fue simplemente una experiencia realmente horrible...
Segundo... hace dos semanas... mi abuelo murió, después de una larga agonía... se que puede sonar frío que diga que fue mejor así, dado que estaba sufriendo mucho; y la operación que podría salvarle la vida tenía probabilidades muy altas de matarlo... así que fue mejor así para que no sufriera más...
Tercero... Estuve toda la semana pasada en mi pueblo natal por los funerales de mi abuelo; y aunque resultó menos desagradable porque al menos estuve en casa de KazeRyuu y pudimos pasarnos el rato jugando videojuegos y viendo animé, fue bastante incomodo porque no estaba tan a gusto allá como en mi casa.
Y bien, también quisiera preguntar algo: ¿vale de algo todo el trabajo de traducción que estoy haciendo? Porque parece que a nadie le interesa todo lo que he hecho en el foro...

Well, it happens that I had two hellish weeks...
First, the last Thursday, my family and me were victims of an extortion attempt through a fake abduction, and while luckily, all the thing ended being just a con, it was a truly awful experience...
Second... two weeks ago... my grandpa died, after a long agony... I know it might be cold from me to say that it was for the best, since he was suffering too much, and the operation that could have saved his life had very high probabilities of killing him too, so... it was the best, so he wouldn't continue suffering...
Third... I was all the past week on my hometown because of my grandpa's funerals, and even if it wasn't completely bad because I could stay in KazeRyuu's house to play videogames and watch anime, it still was a little unpleasant because I wasn't as comfortable as I am on my house.
And finally, I sincerely want to ask something: The translation work I have done in the forum is worth anything? Since it doesn't look like anyone cares at all for the things I have translated in the forum....

Good lord. Extortion and fake abduction?! This among with other things I heard in the past makes your country seem like a very perilous place...
My grandfather died last year too. My aunt had been unable to get in contact with my mum and so she called me and I had to be the one to deliver the news to my mum... Apparently, he had been really sick with diarrhea and vomiting, he was taken to hospital for a few weeks then was discharged when the doctors deemed him well enough to leave but died a couple of days afterwards...
Yes of course, your translation work means so much to me! I don't know if you remember but one of my first topics in the forum was request for translation of the soundtrack diaries, liner notes etc. It was why I signed up (but the community was why I stayed) I'm very glad to see you've managed to translate the Settei Book and Liner Notes! I apologize that I hadn't left comments, as of lately I haven't been too active in the forums. You're not alone in feeling like this. I remember that Lazy was feeling that his translation work was unappreciated too. And actually... this may be my imagination but I have the feeling that many of the newer/younger members of the forums are less interested about the deeper, background details of the games, story, Hymns etc. I'm sure the more devout fans are still very much appreciative of your translation work though

Yes, this country is a pretty bad place to live in (and it gets even worse with the passing of time), which is why my mother is always trying to convince my father to move to anywhere else.
And well, my grandfather ended dying because of a generalized infection that resulted from severe circulatory problems and diabetes he had, so he was in a quite bad condition.
And well, about the translation work, I'm very glad to know that you have read them (since I translated the Premium Book comments and the liner notes especially for you), and I kind of wish that everyone else in the forums read them, but alas, I can't ask for impossibles.
And tomorrow I'll be going back to my hometown once more (for two days), given that we have to do the final sendoff prayer for my grandfather. I'll try to get on the MSN or AIM as soon as I get back.
Ehm, pues eso. Que según he leído varias cosas que tu dices, pareces de Venezuela y tal. Y ahora que dices lo del secuestro me lo confirmas.
Pues eso, lo que iba a decir. A mi me han gustado las canciones de Ar Tonelico desde que jugué el primero, y si bien en youtube hay una persona que los tiene, traducidos algunos al ingles -A lo mejor lo conoces, la cuenta es ZaMaBa - pero no son todos, claro es que todos somos humanos.
Anyway, yo encontré tu blog por pura casualidad, pero he sido lector constante, para aprenderme alguna canción o como se traduce, entro mínimo una vez al día.
Pero nunca he querido participar abiertamente, de postear o algo así. Pero ya que, por lo visto estas pasando por un momento duro así que...Ehm...¿Gracias? Aquí si que hay gente fuera del foro que te lee.
Muchas gracias por el comentario. Y bueno, si, conozco los videos que ha puesto ZaMaBa; y la verdad, me han sido de mucha ayuda a la hora de organizar como van algunas partes de las letras de los Hymmnos (aunque las traducciones son las que yo y Lazy hemos hecho.
De cualquier forma, es un placer haber podido serte de ayuda con la letra de los Hymmnos.

no decaigas con el tema de la retraducción, a mi me interesa, y a mucha otra gente que lo desconoce, o que simplemente no sigue de forma regular las cosas seguro que también le interesa.
Luego cuando un parche es publicado es cuando suele aparecer de repente la gente.
Si a esto le sumamos que se te han juntado dos experiencias realmente horribles, es normal que se te caiga la moral y las ganas por los suelos, pero tienes que seguir adelante.
Todas estas cosas las superan mucho mejor y más rápido todos los demás animales que nos acompañan en el planeta, en cambio a los seres humanos nos cuesta muchísimo más tirar adelante por los complejos sentimientos que tenemos.
De nuevo en cuanto a la retraducción me hubiese gustado más que fuese en español que no en inglés, pero igualmente para hacer la retraducción se habrá tenido que hackear el juego y tendreis las herramientas programadas.
Esto significa que cualquiera podria hacer una traducción a partir de la que habeis hecho del inglés al español o a cualquier otro idioma, si publicais todas las herramientas después para que los demás puedan traducirlo a otros idiomas.
Esto es un segundo motivo más que super importantísimo, tanto o más importante que la propia retraducción, motivo por los cuales debeis terminar la retraducción del Ar Tonelico 2.
